Celebrating Autism Awareness Month with Bethany Lunney

April is Autism Awareness Month.
It makes me incredibly happy to see the book of Bethany Lunney doing so well.
Speaking with Bethany’s proud mum, Lynette Webster, of Capriccio Quartet on several occasions, it is clear to see the dedication and hard work that has gone into this heartfelt story that illuminates the challenges and triumphs of a neurodivergent teenager with ASD.
Lynette and I met a few years back, thanks to former Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis and his fantastic SBS Small Business Sunday initiative. As winners and therefore members of this supportive business community, Lynette asked me if I would be able to work with her and Bethany on ‘If Only’.
A few months later – and thanks to the power of conversation and an introduction to another #SBS winner in Sharon Brown – Bethany’s book is proudly in the homes of many people; individuals who are giving it rave reviews.
Teachers, parents and teenagers alike can benefit from reading this book.
Bethany – many congratulations for writing ‘If Only’ and telling the story of two lives that are bound by fear yet divided by circumstance. Further congratulations for deservedly becoming an SBS winner in your own right, too!
